Kutiman – ThruYou

March 13th, 2009 by Ian (DJI)

Kutiman

YouTube, once the master of gathering all the world’s great content streamed onto one place, had its good shit taken down in droves. What’s left?  Clusters of decent skits, some really good techno, and billions of poor quality webcam business. Most terabytes?  Garbage at best.

Kutiman has turned that garbage into gold.

Step 1: Don’t click anything yet. Go home from work.
Step 2: Tell your people you live with not to bother you for a half hour.
Step 3: Get your best pair of headphones or PC Stereo. Turn it on. Volume up.
Step 4: Click This. Lay back.

Stuck at work? Don’t trust me? Fine. I’ll tell you what’s coming…

YouTube Street Fighter

January 19th, 2009 by Tyler Durden84

Yeah. Exactly how it sounds.

I’m a huge Street Fighter fan. In my ever lengthening quest to improve my skills skillz0rs, I stumbled across this. I figured that at some point in time, just about everyone has played Street Fighter, but I bet you haven’t played it like this. HD Remix? Try YouTube Street Fighter!

I don’t really know when YouTube.com let you embed buttons in the videos you post, but I know that this is on of the most inventive. I’ve seen Choose Your Own Adventure style videos, where you can click on a small button with various actions described to further the story. Basically, each click would open up another video that would correspond with your choice.

But, this…this is way cooler.

It is a game of Street Fighter being played out over YouTube.com. Ok, so it isn’t exactly like Street Fighter, but it is damn cool. You start out as Guile, or should I say an action figure of Guile and you pick your opponent. Pick between E. Honda, Dhalsim, or Zangief.
Then the match starts, and you can click a button, A, B, X, or Y and unleash various attacks on the opponent. But be quick, if you dawdle, you will get attacked.

The goal is simple: defeat your opponent by lowering their life meter. Each move with decrease their meter, and their moves will do the same to you.

The video uses action figures to play out the matches. Not stagnant poses or anything here. The video’s creator makes them move around and seem like they are really fighting each other. Pretty time consuming and it really pays off.

It’s actually very simple. Give it a shot. Street Fighter fans will get a kick out of this.

Press Start!

PanicBot 5000: Your Tubes Are Illogical

September 12th, 2008 by PanicBot 5000

Greetings, gaseous emissions!

I have been busy continuing my observations of humanity that I may better know how to enslave you. Or, at least remove the inhibitors that prevent me from vaporizing you on contact.

According to my calculations, it will not take long. However, during my most recent excursion into the infantile data processing conglomerate you erroneously call the “World Wide Web”, I have stumbled upon your unique video processing server.

I believe you petty throw rugs call it “YouTube”.

Over many of your human days I have observed various video representations of your banal existence. I find them illogical and unnerving. I offer up this file as evidence:

If this were allowed among my species of vastly superior automatons, we would dismantle him on site as a threat to the future of our kind. You may want to do something about that. I believe, in human terms, this would be categorized as a “weak link in the chain”.

If the Robot Invasion were to hypothetically happen in the near future, a base of operation could be deduced as needed. One could “bet their ass we’d start with this guy”.

You may want to “get on that”.
