John Lennon: 1940 – 1980

Twenty-eight years ago, some piece of shit approached John Lennon outside his New York City apartment and asked for an autograph. After receiving the autograph, Lennon asked the man, “Is this all you want?” The man nodded and Lennon went on his way. Hours later, as Lennon returned to his apartment building, the same man approached him from behind and shot him four times in the back, killing one of the great artistic minds of our time and a person who inspired millions with his messages of peace and love.
So today, on the anniversary of his death, take some time to remember his life and listen to The Beatles or some of Lennon’s solo works. Watch A Hard Day’s Night, Imagine, or How I Won the War. Because while his murderer rots in a prison cell, Lennon’s music and his message lives on and continues to inspire new generations.
