Game Night

Chromehouds

ChromehoundsWelcome to Game Night at Robot Panic, with your lovely hosts, the Drunken Gamers, where we are fervently committed to engaging our neighbors in good, wholesome, family-values styled, mechanized warfare.  We love Chromehounds and would love for you to join our little band of disaster, where we hope to wreak serious havoc in our imaginary mech war, or at least start as many fires as possible.  Now let’s kick some ass, Seabass!

For the Chromehounds vets, use the following info:

Allegiance: Sal Kar

Squad: PanicBotBrigade (input exactly as it appears)

Password: LT-LT-RT-RT

Squads are capped at 20 members.  If no room is left, please send a message and we’ll start another.  It also appears as though the Squad Leader needs to be online for you to join.  I am not certain this is completely accurate, but know that it may be a factor.

For the noobs, read the following info:

Before you jump into the online fray, if new to Chromehounds, it is strongly suggested that you play through the first mission (training) of each mech class in single player Story Mode.  The game refers to these classes as Role Types (sniper, soldier, heavy gunner, etc).

It should be noted that this game does not play in any way like Mechassault from the perspective of strategy, however, if you enjoyed the visual presentation and controls in Mechasssault, you may be pleased to know those elements of Chromehounds are similar.  Success in Chromehounds relies entirely on the function of team play, communication, and adherence to a particular role as defined by the type of mech you choose.  If you are a run-and-gun player, you will not only fail, but you also will bring your team down.  Every time.  Don’t be a douche.

Logging in to the Chromehounds server on XBL for the first time will give you the opportunity to select one mech to be placed in your garage, compliments of some imaginary nation.  It is recommended you choose a mech class with which you found some success in the training missions.  You will also be asked to declare your allegiance with one side in some imaginary war.  If you want to play with us, choose Sal Kar.  If you want to destroy us, choose something else.  Like those cucumber farmers from Journey, for example.  (see last sentence of previous paragraph)

From the Online menu, choose Join/Leave/Manage Squad in the bottom left of the screen. On the next screen, select Join Squad.  You can search by the squad name, PanicBotBrigade (input exactly as it appears), the Activity Level (choose “Weekends Only”), or by Passcode (choose “Yes”).  When you find the squad, select it, enter the passcode “LT-LT-RT-RT” and I will confirm your request.  It also appears as though the Squad Leader (MoeBot 5000) needs to be online in game for you to join.  I am not certain this is completely accurate, but you should know that it may be a factor.  Squads are capped at 20 members.  If no room is left, please send a message and we’ll start another.

At this point we should be logged in together.  Each time you log in to Chromehounds, you will be automatically registered as a member of the squad, unless you choose to leave, which we both know you would never, ever dream of doing.  Would you?

Once you are part of a squad, there is no need for the squad leader to be online for squad members to play missions together.  Go ahead and knock your damn selves out.
