Wow, did this episode make me wanna light up. Might spend some serious time on learning to enjoy a good cigar.

I must have missed an episode because I missed the Anthrax talk.

Really good show! Moe calmed down eventually, bless him. Fluffy, you are a very dirty boy indeed. Ryker was great once again, really informative stuff and he sounds like a thoroughly nice bloke!
Cheers lads.

This gal’s technique isn’t the best, but she is mighty fine to watch. Guy’s pay attention, chicks do look much hotter when smoking a stogie…

It’s been too long since I wrote anything here. Now that my life has calmed down a tad I may try a Cigar of the month article just to get things moving again.
Peace!

Why is Moe always such an asshole when Ryker is on the show?
February 27th, 2012 at 6:05 pm
The cigar segment (sans Moe except for just a couple of his comments) was fantastic. Nice to hear you on the show again Ryker.

@Elewis, despite what you might think, Moe and I are quite good friends. In fact SuziQ and I have gone to see his band more than a few times (even though they dress like penguins).
Each time I do a show the topic I have researched has always been one that was of no particular interest to Moe. (Comics, Star Trek, and now cigars). It’s just Moe’s lovable way of adding some point of view on topics he doesn’t like or understand. He may also be testing me in some Moe-like way, which is also endearing…

Fuckin great show once again. Ryker, you always bring a passion for the topic that really brings it out.
I bought a box of Romeo & Juliets when I was in Cuba in 2009, but I forgot about them in a drawer until this podcast…would they be too dry to enjoy now? Would it be possible to re…humidor…them?
February 28th, 2012 at 12:57 pm
@Tex,
You are probably 90% screwed. Cigars that have been dried out for a month can be easily restored, but cigars that dry out for over a year lose the oils that keep them flavorful! However, Romeo and Julieta’s are awesome smokes and may be worth saving. Here’s a technique I have heard about but never tried. The key is to be patient and take it slow.
Put your cigars in a 60% humidity environment, yes I said 60% Many people jump right in and over-humidify a dry cigar and I hate to tell ya, that doesn’t work at all. Go 60% for 2 days, then 65% for 2, then 70% for 3 days…etc. The whole process should take a week or two. Pinch the cigars and check the wrap to make sure it has cracked and broken. Then give it a shot and light up.
Or simply go out and buy fresh Romeo and Julieta’s and use the dry ones for kindling.

What? But they came in a tube!
I might have to give that a try. Thanks man! Now I need a white suit and I’ll look like Kingpin.

keep up the good show

John, I remember this now! I had it on my mp3 player for about a month but was too busy to listen to it and it ended up getting deleted. I do have to say that Volume 8 came out in 1998 originally, and I love it like all of the Bush Anthrax albums.
John, if you need some more thrash metal fix I can be your dealer.
Evile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=924bRfmiJ20 Thrash metal! English style!
Vektor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgJ_xj_l7d8 This song has a long build up but it’s worth it.
Lazarus A.D.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17dUpEP9e6A These guys are more Pantera/groove influenced. They’re also from Wisconsin.
Havok – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxRG1ibp8YM Just straight up thrash metal.
Municipal Waste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bJ9bYCmO2c Thrash/hardcore crossover.
Toxic Holocaust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25JiM_5n_Kc Fucking awesome.
These last 2 aren’t thrash metal, but are great.
Red Fang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpOCoMGNJfA This video had me laughing nearly the entire time.
Christian Mistress: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYUKgKnoaGo I’ll say it now, best female fronted metal band out there right now.
