Sony? Add a few more to PSN before giving up on PSPgo?

May 14th, 2010 by Ian (DJI)

Daily HAZEL´s PSP GO !!!!So it’s been about seven months of life with a PSPgo. Sony lied about UMD conversions and new UMDs releasing with PSN versions, my hardware broke and repaired for $100 through SCEA, I got to spend four days redownloading my game collection while thanking god unlike Nintendo downloads my account is transferable, and I listen with my head in my hands while the giga-nerd backlash continues against Go about ownership of media while the same idiots praise Apple for having all their games on one place.  ‘Lots of love-hate relationship running around.

Well friends, I love my PSPgo; still. My 40+ collection in pocket size continues to outweigh the costs. It is a strange love.

I know because of Sony’s infamous new-hotness pricing backlashs, the PSPgo is the worst selling system of all the consoles while regular PSP is somewhere on the up-’n-up. I know Sony is working on PSP2-hyphen-comma-phone. I know the flow of updating old UMDs to a PSP version dwindled after the curbstomping hardware sales results.  Therefore I’m educated-guessing my machine isn’t going to be supported too much longer. That’s ok I guess. Before I bought PSPgo, I did a bunch of consumer research and wrote down a list of games I wanted to make sure get PSN ported before I jumped on the device. Surprisingly, my wishes were granted on most of those.  This article is about the missing few that should have hit the download service six months ago.

Sony, can you hit up your developers and get these titles on your downloadable network? Pretty please?

Lumines from StickLumines II – The flagship of the first wave of sales. The success of this was a big chunk of the reason the music puzzle game was ported just about everywhere. Q Games says the PSN version took time is because they needed to re-license all the tracks. Later, Q said the piracy of PixelJunk Monsters was so large, they weren’t interested in PSN anymore.  This made me sad.
PSN Alternatives: Kurulin Fusion, Tetris

MegaMan Powered UpMegaman Powered Up – A Megaman 1 remake would be a ton of fun. add-ons and making levels, yes I would like this. There’s even a working demo for it on Maverick Hunter X, the Megaman X1 remake. The last I heard, Capcom had a long list of support for PSN of UMDs they were bringing over. This Powered Up was on the list. I’m pretty sure after Darkstalkers hit, the sales report of Go being the worst seller came out. I don’t remember seeing anything on the update list from Capcom since.
PSN Alternatives: Megaman: Maverick Hunter X, Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero?

1228105245840Every Extend Extra – Supposedly the best version of the Every Extend series. This version has dedicated stages with variety and bosses at the end. The best part is the game apparently cannot run infinity like E4 and become a high score challenge to who hates themselves the longest. Q never had plans to bring this over PSN. I don’t even think it sold well on UMD.
PSN Alternatives: Beats, Echoes

Meadevil MadnessPinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection - Sony put out Pinball Heroes. Leaderboards are welcomed, but this series had some of the worst display options of all the portable pinball games available. The best ones that came after the Pro Pinball series for anything modern were the Pinball Hall of Fame games. There are two of them. The first one is on PSN. The Williams one with the better tables is not. Fix that please. Crave? I don’t remember if you have anything to do with this, but you should fix this anyway.
PSN Alternatives: Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlib Collection, Pinball Fantasies, Pinball Dreams

PSPMetal Gear Acid – The hardware controls kinda hurt my hands after a decent period and I normally don’t play in environments where I’m left alone to concentrate. A turn-based card metal gear would be pleasant. Portable ops is on PSN. Why can’t this series? I just wanna find out what the hell this game is. I really have no idea.
PSN Alternatives: Metal Gear Solid – Portable Ops, Portable Ops Plus
