    guys, your contests fucking rule

  2. Ian (DJI) Says:

lol Zinswin! One amazing opera you kicked the shit out of five drunken me’s. Well fucking done! You deserved all that win!

    Gruel! Funny shit!

  3. MeatMan Says:

Ditto what fluffy said. DGR contests > all others. Also, very impressive pipes on display by Zinswin. That was great!

Looking forward to supporting DGR once again when the Shmopera total package is available.

    Dear John,

Death Smiles doesn’t have a hard date, but was listing June for a release.

    XOXO

  5. Jharp Says:

    Holy tits, I won something!

  6. Zinswin Says:

Awesomely excited about the win! Thanks, guys! DJI, you kicked much ass… I probably shouldn’t have played it for my 3 & 4 year old girls, but my wife talks like a sailor so what the hell.

Oh, Michael McDonald… I love to hate that guy. He was played on the Muzak at my previous job, along with his female counterpart, Celine Dion. I wanted to stab my ears out whenever it played.

I loved DJ’s entry – that was pure gold

Awesome stuff all round though – each entry made me laugh uncontrollably – even the bizarre ones.

  8. Zinswin Says:

Awesome ending to the Shmopera, by the way. I heard a bit of The Who, GNR, and Springsteen. Really the best tunes so far. Listened to it a couple of times now and I can’t wait til it’s ready to download.

The poem contest was money. A hearty “well done” to all of the writers/singers!

With regards to this weeks “Five Things,” I just wanted to point out that most of the rumors regarding the Nintendo 3DS suggest that this is not just another iteration of the DS hardware, but is a full on “next generation DS” a la Gameboy-to-Gameboy Advance-to-Nintendo DS. So, it’s supposed to have more under the hood in order to do the 3D work, and should include other features (such as the rumored accelerometer). So yeah, I’m still plenty happy with my DS Lite and don’t really need an XL or a DSi, but the 3DS may have enough features to make me upgrade…if the price is right…

  11. John Says:

I’m (mostly) with you, ilduce. I’m just really disappointed with how Nintendo handled the DSi. I’m a big fan of the DS and for the longest time it was easily my most-played console, so I happily bought a DSi thinking that the steady stream of great and unique games would continue and that DSiWare would provide an additional catalog of quality games. Unfortunately, one year out, that hasn’t been the case. I just bought my first DS game after a months-long drought and DSiWare has been almost exclusively crap; and what hasn’t been crap has been either watered-down versions of other games or actual re-released bits from other games.

So that was a bit of a tangent. But my point is that I’m just not thrilled about shelling out more cash for another DS (it’ll be my fourth) when they’ve done next to nothing with the DSi.

That said, I’m totally buying one on launch day. ;)

Minute….by…minute…by…minute…by…minute… Couldn’t believe you played that underneath the recording. CLASSIC!

Zin, do you do Karaoke as well? I used to host locally and have the ITCH going. Let me know…

  13. MeatMan Says:

So Hilden, it’s been 2 weeks since the MGC podcast on which you said to expect a new After Hours “very soon”… and not just any After Hours. An After Hours with fluffy nuts, which, assuming he (and the rest of you) was intoxicated at the time of recording, is sure to be a memorable one.

So are we still going to have a chance to experience this nugget of drunken hilarity you teased us with half a month ago? If so, when? And please don’t say “very soon.” :P

  14. Zinswin Says:

Haven’t done Karaoke in ages, I pretty much suck hardcore at pop music.

  15. carrotpanic Says:

Moe: awesome job on the sax!

  16. Ryker XL Says:

Good Karaoke shows have Les Mis and other broadway stuff, we could get you drunk enough and give it a try.
