Oh wow, I’m literally ACHING to hear Hilden’s rant. BRING THE FAYAH!

  2. Bleak Harvest Says:

    yes…. YES!!! NURTURE THE ANGER!

  3. Zinswin Says:

One of the best things about the Beatles: RB is the bass part. For the first time in any music game, the bass part is interesting and fun to play. Also, this is the most fun I’ve had on drums on any music game.

And the harmonies… shit, there are tough ones in there. I need to practice.

And the Zune HD will take over the world, bitches! Eat it! Steve Jobs is going down!

  4. MeatMan Says:

Hilden’s Microsoft rant was worth the download by itself. The rest of the show was icing on the cake. Reminiscing about the Dreamcast was a nice trip down memory lane.

  5. Bleak Harvest Says:

I’m really, really sorry to have posted three times now, but I think seeing as you spent so much time talking about how Activision is the devil and how Microsoft is Hilden’s central focus of hate.. well, you’ll have a special appreciation for this link:

Thanks for the severely entertaining show, as always!

  6. Zinswin Says:

That really does suck about Hilden’s XBox. I was always under the impression that the 3 year warranty got tacked on after each repair. Good as new, right? I guess not so much…

  7. Ian (DJI) Says:

DGR rants are the greatest in the world. I expect great things. Great things.

  8. Ryker XL Says:

@Hilden, GREAT Rant! Similar things have happened to a bunch of folks and they are so close to a class action suit it’s silly. Perhaps then we’ll all get our money back. Until then my offer to help heal your Xbox woes still stands my friend! :)

  9. ilduce620 Says:

I haven’t even listened to it, but I can imagine where the rant is going… I bought a PS3 over a 360 primarily because I hate Microsoft as a company. Sure, Bill Gates & Co. have done a lot for the so-called “Personal Computer” over the decades, but Linux is a superior operating system (in terms of stability and security, yet that lacks gaming support) and Microsoft hardware is generally terrible. I realize there are millions of folks that love Xbox Live, but it just isn’t enough for me: give me stability and reliability any day.

  10. Arvandor Says:

Have you guys never played Toy Commander?

    Ever?

    Because… seriously.

    You should.

  11. John Says:

    I own Toy Commander.

  12. Makula Says:

I’m sorry to hear about a 360 Red Ring story, but I just wanted to say that you don’t need to buy a new 360 to watch netflix in your TV, you can stream NetFlix from your PS3 with a media server called PlayOn. A lot of people I know use it and it’s really cool for only one single fee of $39.99. I don’t know if that’s the only reason why you want to re-buy a 360 than I would suggest just get PlayOn in your computer and stream all the movies in you netflix Queue. Here is a link if you want a 14 day-trial.

Other than that good show, keep it up.

  13. Makula Says:

Oh sorry to post again, but if you are interested you can buy PlayOn for half price $19.99.. follow this link

    Cheers

  14. John Says:

Our of pure coincidence, I decided to give PlayOn a try today. Unfortunately, my luck hasn’t been very good. The first two Netflix movies I tried watching gave me an error message that said, “File corrupted.” Then, the third one sat at 0% Buffering for about 30 minutes before I gave up. So far…not good.

Also, I think it might be PC only and Hilden’s a Mac guy.

EDIT: Finally got a Netflix movie to work. Aside from the questionable video quality, it worked pretty well. Hulu runs like shit, though. It gives you about three seconds before it has to stop and load.

EDIT 2: Alright, figured out the key to get Hulu (and all the other non-Netflix bits) working: pause it, come back in 5-10 minutes, and go. Works great. I still get the occasional “file corrupted” message, but in all I’d really recommend this for those wanting to get Netflix going on their PS3 as well as Hulu, CBS, CNN, YouTube, etc.

  15. Rusty Shackleford Says:

John, to get back at your wife you should have slipped it in her ass while in the middle of love making. Surprise butt sex is the spice of life.

My Dreamcast memory was picking it up at Toys R Us when it was $50.

Saying who cares about Zune gaming on a podcast that reviews cell phone games? Call them iPhone games but they’re still cell phone games. I also want to say that Zune HD getting HD radio is awesome. iPod is just now getting FM radio and Zune is getting HD radio. That is something else Microsoft isn’t advertizing enough.

Courtney Love hot? And everyone knows Love killed Cobain. ;)

Twitter might be the worst creation in the history of man.

The Xbox 360 is full of Mountain Dew and R.E.M.’s Document album

Hilden is giving up on gaming? If you don’t have a Xbox 360 all you’re left with is a blu-ray player and a bunch of mini game collections.

  16. Lard Says:

I think you Dreamcast list is pretty good, though I would add some “honourable mentions”:

Virtua Tennis – I *hate* tennis and love this game.

Hydro Thunder – Arcade racing perfectly ported.

Shadow Man – A great adventure game that was much better than the PS1 abomination.

DC’s rail gun shooters – House of the Dead 2, Time Crisis

And that was a fantastic rant!

  17. carrotpanic Says:

Hey guys sorry to bring this up so late (just listening now):

I ordered Raiden IV through Amazon and got the soundtrack disc, so this isn’t Gamestop exclusive. Don’t buy this at Gamestop when you don’t have to!

  18. John Says:

That’s hilarious! When I bought it at GameStop it had a sticker on it saying, “Exclusive Soundtrack”.

  19. carrotpanic Says:

Yeah, I think it’s “exclusive” to the game meaning you can’t buy it separately.

  20. Makula Says:

Hey John I’m glad you tried PlayOn, I know it’s not as easy as netflix on the 360, but I think it’s a good option for people who don’t own a 360. thanks for trying :)

  21. John Says:

I’ve actually used PlayOn quite a bit over the weekend using Netflix, Hulu, and the plugin so I can watch Co-op. It gives me a few hiccups every now and then, but I really like it otherwise. I would definitely recommend downloading the trial edition.

  22. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Actually the sticker said “Exclusive Soundtrack Sticker”. The copy John got had the last part torn off.

  23. carrotpanic Says:

Without that part of the sticker you’ll NEVER get top dollar on ebay.
