Great show once again, even though it was short, it had all the necessary shenanigans we look forward to.
Canadian John’s letter about Nostalgia in games was a great question. For me I believe that nostalgia and video games is linked to those games that invoke fond memories for the time in which I was playing them. As a kid I grew up playing an Atari 2600, and while the games from that system are mostly inferior (not to mention the big Pac Man screw all of us got back then with “their” version of that game) I still have fond memories of playing Atari football with my brother in the basement. Sure it was the same play over and over, but that’s all we had back then. And the times I shared with my brothers over a 2600 were golden. Would I go back to play them… Um no. But I still have good memories.
As for today, games that may pass the test of time wil be linked to similar memories created by unique gameplay or social experiences. I agree with Hilden on Halo as many hours did I spend in couch co-op and ad-hoc lan parties with that game. It was a unique and fun experience for me. Other games that I think I will remember fondly and may even try again include: Final Fantasy X , Oblivian, Fallout 3, and Bioshock. The immersive world and powerful storytelling make later replay value quite high IMHO.

Hey, John (or anyone else)… I’ve never played a Bonk game and I’ve got a Wii. Which old game should I pick up? Virtual Console has Bonk’s Adventure, Bonk’s Revenge and Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure.

Start in that exact order: Adventure, Revenge, 3.

HotD: Overkill is indeed fantastic for the ending.
Also, Director’s Cut mode is great. It’s even zombier than the regular mode. Get the shotgun. Immediately.

Great show guys. I do have to say though, Hilden, what’s up with this Tiger hate???
This Tigger was only trying to protect you from the coming Elephantine Takeover…

When you guys talk about Beatles Rock Band I hope you don’t go too far up their ass in the review.
Also, damn them for their crappy bass guitar. It’s supposed to be like the one Paul plays yet it’s right handed. Paul is left handed you blind SOBs! I demand a recall, or maybe a phone number were you can order it because flipping those things looks so weird when left handed people play them.

I’ll gladly go straight up their asses, thank you very much.
