Bonk: Brink of Extinction

I am flabbergasted. After just having a conversation the other day where I said the only way to bring Bonk back would be through one of the downloadable services, here he is, ready to appear on WiiWare, XBLA, and PSN. And yes, I will buy all three versions. I am that stupid crazy.
Here are the details:
Bonk. Is. Back! Hudson’s loveable caveman makes his long-awaited return and has brought his enormously giant head with him! Get ready for an all new adventure exclusively on Xbox LIVE®Arcade, Playstation®Network, and WiiWare™ in Spring 2010!
A doomsday comet, surrounded by smaller chunks of debris, is on a collision course with Earth. A strange magnetic field around the comet seems to be driving most of the planet’s weak-willed creatures crazy, and smaller bits of debris are smashing into the jungle near Bonk’s home. Bonk must undertake a perilous journey that will take him to the very center of the planet to save the world.

So let’s talk about that look, eh? First of all, it looks exactly how I expected, especially in light of the recent Adventure Island release on WiiWare. Bonk looks a bit more caveman-ish than usual, but I’m cool with it. And it appears that these screens all come from the same level or set of levels, so I’m guessing there will be more variety.
Now, what about the game details? Online play? Does that mean that the two-player feature from Bonk III will be making a return? That could be fun, though I never got into the multiplayer too much. But judging by these few screens, this looks like a return to the feel of the original Bonk, rather than Bonk III and the Super NES/Super Famicom sequels. Here’s hoping the developers bring back a few of the classic tunes from the Adventure/Revenge games.
Who’s excited?

I’m jealous of John right now, as I imagine the feeling he is currently feeling is akin to what I would feel if Shenmue III got announced, which will never happen.
