The New Prisoner Blog
Oh, man am I getting excited! I’m not sure if you’ve stumbled over to the AMC website recently. If you did, possibly to view those bad ass 1960′s Prisoner shows we talked about awhile back, you may have found this awesome blog!
It’s basically a production diary of the new Prisoner mini-series they’re filming that’s set to debut sometime in 2009. On the blog they have behind the scenes photos and videos as well as personal blogs from some of the actors. Most notably, you can find Ian McKellen’s blog regarding his role as the infamous Number 2. Man, I can’t WAIT for this to come out!

You sure are prolific today! But anyway, I checked out some of the video diaries of this the other day and I’m pretty impressed to see where they’re going. I like that they’re not just “remaking” the old series, but doing a different take on it altogether. The original was perfect the way it was so recreating it would be silly. I’m very excited.

I loved the video where they were talking about making the village. How they tired to make it rather mundane and having all the touchstones of various European areas so that everyone could find it a bit familiar. Then fill it with strange people doing strange things. Seems like the right way to go about it.

Cool as heck, maybe it will end up like BSG and the miniseries becomes a full fledged series somewhere…

AMC is steppin it up lately. Just got into the Mad Men series which is another AMC show. Good stuff!
