Esurance Has Star Trek

I don’t know if you’re as excited about the new J.J. Abrams helmed Star Trek film as I am, but if you are than Esurance has something you need to see. Why Esurance you might be asking? I have NO idea. Other than the fact that their advertising campaign seems to be trying really hard to convince you that buying insurance from them is the next great adventure in your life.
With that said, they have a pretty cool feature on their website, which can be found here where Abrams and most of the principle cast can be seen talking about the film. It’s really just another commercial for the movie which opens this summer, but it does have a few shots from the trailer that you may want to check out. If your a total nerd for this stuff like I am, that is.
Now, if those crazy Esurance folks could improve the animation on their commercials, they might convince me to switch.

I have to say, that preview during the Super Bowl looked bad ass, and I couldn’t give a shit less about Star Trek, generally.

I’ve been pretty stoked about the reboot ever since the first teaser trainer came out. I was a huge fan and yet I was so dismayed to see paramount milk that franchise to death. I think at one time there were THREE trek shows on simultaneously. I think that’s why there are more folks just like you John who just don’t care anymore, it was so in your face, and what was in your face wasn’t always quality. I’m hoping that Abram’s new direction and energy can give new life to a franchise I enjoy.
As an asside, last year I basically made my son watch “Wrath of Khan.” At first we was only mildly interested, but I smiled as he screamed “GO GO GET EM GET EM” during the Voltaire Nebula battle sequence. A cool Geek Dad moment…

This may be the first Star Trek movie I see in theaters since ST IV. That trailer looked great, like a James Bond type reboot.

I’m hoping to see this in the theater with my dad and uncles, like I did when I was little.
