D&D 4th Edition: Adventurers Vault

For those that have been bitten by the D&D bug, you’ll be pleased to note the steady releases of supplemental books by Wizards of the Coast. How complex a task this 4E switchover is, I can’t even begin to imagine. But I’ll give them this: they’ve hooked me back in.
Last month, those of you on the D&D inside track already know that the Forgotten Realms supplemental book was released. This month sees the release of the Adventurers Vault. Here’s the word, direct from Wizards of the Coast’s website:
Hundreds of new weapons, tools, and magic items for your D&D character.
This supplement for the Dungeons & Dragons game presents nearly a thousand magic items, weapons, tools, and other useful items for your D&D character. Whether you’re a player looking for a new piece of equipment or a Dungeon Master stocking a dragon’s hoard, this book has exactly what you need.
The book features a mix of classic items updated to the 4th Edition rules and brand-new items never before seen in D&D.
So, there you go. If you’re looking for a shit-ton of new stuff for your next dungeon raid, or simply have a favorite weapon or item that hadn’t been updated to the official new rule set, then this book is for you. I’ve had a chance to page through this bad boy at my local dork shop and it’s the same kind of high standard presentation that you’ve come to expect from the 4th Edition. With a hard cover, glossy pages that really show off some gorgeous artwork, the Adventurers Vault looks like a solid purchase for those looking to add more to their game.
Looks like I’ve got another book on the “Must Buy” list.
Amazon has the Adventurers Vault for around $18.00. You can find it here.

Yeah, but they’re taking their sweet ass time with the Player’s Handbook II which will finally bring back Nature-based magic along with the Druid & Bard. Won’t be out until March next year. I need those before I can convert my campaign fully over to 4th Edition. Oh God… I’m a nerd.

GODAMMIT!!! Wizards of the Coast keep trying to suck me back in. It’s like a cycle. New books are released, I think, “Hey, I should get a group together!” I buy the new books and maybe play 2 or 3 games until everyone’s schedule gets too complicated to organize a game. Then I lament the loss of all that money.
I ended up buying a collection of books the last time they released D&D 3.5 (I think that’s what it’s called?). I used those 8+ books a total of maybe 6 times before I stopped playing. My bro moved a few months back and I saw that he had the new 4th Ed. books and that’s what got the ball rolling again in my head.
It’s a cycle!

I just got the core set of rule books in the mail, no idea if or when I’ll be able to get a session going or not. Attempted to a few times last year to no luck. Gotta find some gamers in town that will show some mercy to a D&D noob like myself.

Dammit, if we’re all at MGC this year, we’re fucking playing a game.

Ive actually never played D&D per se, but i have played the Star Wars pen and paper game, which im pretty sure follows the same rules, just…you know, with Star Wars. I really liked it, but wish my friends would want to play.
Too bad there isnt a way to play online, cuz id play everytime someone wanted to.
